Random

Bought a lipstick at Body Shop a few days ago. I think Body Shop has reformulated its lip colour collection. Their lipsticks now are fragranced. I don't like perfumed lipsticks. Feels as if I've just eaten a soap.

Right now I really need an external CD/DVD drive. My netbook is starting to become slower than usual. Need to buy the Bit Defender antivirus as well. Oh, and I haven't installed the full version of Microsoft Office yet! How am I going to do my work? What's the purpose of having a cute, pink netbook if I can't bring it along with me everywhere I go and do my work???

Life is hectic right now.

Numerical Methods test.
Foundation Engineering test.
Reinforced Concrete Design test.
Highway & Transport laboratory test.
Project: Design the footing and all the columns for a bungalow house.
Project: Shallow foundation in clay.
Final year project presentation.

I think micro blogging suits my busy lifestyle more. So follow me on Twitter instead.

With friends like this, who needs enemies?

I hate it when old friends dissappear for ages and then suddenly they contact you out of the blue and expect you to be available for them.

Especially if I have been trying to keep in touch with them, texting them, but they were stuck up and snobbish and replied my messages half-heartedly. Busy sangat la tu.

And when they finally contacted me, they blamed ME for being stuck up. Err...hello? All these while I've been trying to reach you.

We used to be best friends, we share everything. I've been asking you how you've been and everything. But you won't share. You refused to include me in your life. But when something big comes up, or when you have a problem, you find me. And you expect me to be there for you. I have my own life too. And is it a coincidence that when you need the most, I am busy as hell?

I have this friend, we were so close during my foundation year. Suddenly during my first year degree, she LEFT. My life in Uniten turned upside down. I'm lucky to have my boyfriend with me. And then after that I realized that my life wasn't so bad after all. I've made lots of new AMAZING friends and I've improved A LOT in my studies.

This friend of mine, she always text me out of the blue, when I least expect it. And this morning I received a text from her.

I didn't reply.

The best makeup remover ever!

I've always been in search for the perfect makeup remover.

I've tried Origins Liquid Crystal. It's in a cleanser form (I don't like that, I'd like the makeup remover to be tissue-off), it's oily and expensive.

I've tried Simple Facial Cleansing wipes. It's really goooood. But wipes are not economical for everyday use (1 packet cost about RM20) so I only use it when travelling (so convenient!). I heart Simple Facial Cleansing wipes. It removes makeup in a jiffy!

L'Oreal makeup removers are OK. Some of their makeup removers are in creamy form and some are in gel form.

Neutrogena Deep Clean makeup remover is OK too, but it's creamy and I don't like creamy makeup removers (haha cerewet kan). Plus, the pump dispenses too much amount at one press and I don't like that either.

And then I discovered the Mandom Cleansing Express Sebum cleansing lotion. The name is kinda funny coz it's a Japanese product. And like any other Japanese product, it's really good!

WHY THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MAKEUP REMOVER:

1. It does not only removes makeup effectively, it also clear your pores. It contains green tea extract which has pore-tightening benefit. Your pores will feel clean and fresh and I really like that refreshing feeling after I used it.

2. It's 100% oil free, water based and contains moisture-retaining ingredients. My skin feels clean yet moist with no unpleasant tightness.

3. It's dual-purpose. Serves as a makeup remover and toner.

4. It's very versatile (tissue-off). You don't need to rinse off your makeup, just wipe it off. Very convenient when it's late at night and I'm tired and lazy to do anything.

5. It's hypo-allergenic, friendly to sensitive skin, alcohol free, preservative free, fragrance free, colouring free, noncomedogenic, paraben-free.

6. And the bottle is nice once you remove all the stickers.

Buka puasa at Seri Pacific, KL

We all got problems. But life goes on right? That's why I decided to follow my parents today to break fast at Seri Pacific Hotel in KL instead of sitting at home, drowning in a sea of tears and eating Maggi for buka puasa. Ha ha.

Initially I thought we were going to the Pan Pacific Hotel in KLIA. Turns out that it's actually the Seri Pacific Hotel which is located in near PWTC and The Mall. Apparently, Malaysia Airlines owns 11% of the Seri Pacific share so my dad got an invitation to eat there for free. Yeay.

International buffet was serve. There was a great variety of food. The Ramadhan buffet was held at the Japanese restaurant, coz the grand ballroom was booked for some other event. So most of the food served during the buffet was Japanese food.

Oh.My.God. The makciks and pakciks there were like piranhas. Or ular sawa. I don't know. When I arrived at the hotel, it was still very early, but people were already queuing up, getting as much food as they can. I think my family's table is the table with the least amount of food. Other people's tables...God...it seems like they haven't ate for 10 years! Tamak btul time puasa nih.

I had a small portion of fried rice, broccoli, stir-fried vegetables and grilled fish. Yummy. One thing you have to know about me is that it is not worth it to bring me to a buffet coz I only ate a little.

I had sushi (doesn't taste as good as Sushi King and Sakae Sushi) and vegetable and prawn tempura. So these are the only thing I ate. And then followed by fruits. Lots of lots of fruit. Oh, and I nibbled a bit of the chocolate brownie and chocolate fondue that my mum took.Serious rugikan bawa I pegi buffet???Luckily the buffet was free.

My final year project

I have to conduct surveys on the following group of people:

Primary school pupils
5 pupils each from standard 1-6.
5 x 6 = 30 pupils

Secondary school students
6 students each from form 1-5.
6 x 5 = 30 students

Uniten students
5 electrical power students, 5 electrical-electronics students, 5 civil engineering students, 5 mechanical engineering students, 5 from IT and 5 from Computer Science.
Total = 30 students

The public
10 people from low income background, 10 from middle income and 10 from high income.
Total = 30 people.

In conclusion, I have to conduct the survey on a sample of 120 people! Really hope that things will turn out well, especially for the school kids. I hope I can conduct the surveys at the schools this November before the school break. =(

My topic is on environmental education, but I myself never recycle, never bring my own shopping bag and always use the plastic bags, I waste water and electricity. How ironic.

Trauma

Today evening, I was driving home from Uniten. I felt that my car was kinda slow, and couldn't go faster than 60km/h. I stepped on the accelerator pedal harder, and the fastest I could go was 80km/h. When I arrived at the Sg. Besi highway (after travelling for, like, what?20km?) I realized that I forgot to push down the handbrake!

So I released the handbrake. The car was moving at its normal pace. OK, everything was fine. And then...I wanted to enter the Smart Tunnel ramp and I realized that I could not brake! Yes! My brake FAILED. And I was driving on the fast lane!Omg omg omg. I started reciting a few doa and saw my life flashed before my eyes (you know, the kind of feeling that people say you'll get when you're dying).

Luckily I was following the car in front at an acceptable distance, so after a few attempts, I managed to slow down the car. Takut gile OK! I felt like I was in an action movie. A horrible action movie, that is.

So I stopped at the Smart Tunnel ramp, turned on the hazard light and tested my brake a few times before moving again. The brake felt "loose", I don't know how to describe it. But over time, the brake went back to normal again. But I still drove with the hazard light on. So that the other cars won't think I'm such a grandma for driving slow.

Another weird thing that has happened today is, when my parents got back from KLCC this afternoon, they found that the front door of our house was opened! There was no sign of a break in, so it was assumed that we did not lock the door properly and it was raining heavily just now so the wind probably had blown open the door (happened a few times before). My mum panicked coz her cat, Koko was nowhere to be found. Koko had escaped! Fortunately, she found Koko at the neighbour's house. My mum really, really panicked about the whole incident. I think her cat gone missing scares her more than her daughter's near-death experience on the road.

What I can conclude from that incident on the highway was that, no matter how careful you are, danger is all around. I've always been a careful driver. Ask my parents, ask my boyfriend. I'm a very very safe driver. Sometimes I do speed up, but I could control the car very well. And today, I almost got into an accident not because of poor driving skills and whatnot, but because of a little mistake, which was forgetting to release the handbrake. So bear in mind that whatever shit they taught you in driving school (check rear view mirror, check side mirror, check lights, handbrake etc.), these are the little things that you never realized its importance, until something happened to you! So jadi la skema and check all those stuffs before you start driving!

**edited**
I'm proud of the fact that I was still able to drive the car safety back home while in a state of shock.
