I've just finished packing all my stuffs.
And I'm bringing a suitcase full of beauty products...

Some of the things that I'm bringing:

-Benefit's Lip Plump

-Benefit's Gee That Was Quick Makeup Remover

(These are the only two Benefit products that are beneficial for me! Haha)

-Clinique Derma White Super City Block SPF40

-Redoxon chewable vitamin C

-Vera Wang Princess EDT

-Guardian Hand Sanitizer

-Clinique Clarifying Lotion & Dramatically Differerent Moisturizing Lotion

-2 tubes of Clinique All About Eyes Concealer!! (One tube is about to finish)

-Blackmores vitamin ACE (antioxidant for my skin!)

-The Body Shop lash and brow gel

-The Body Shop cammomile eye make up remover

-The Body Shop peppermint foot rescue

-Revlon mineral foundation

-The Body Shop lip colour in Bare

-Clinique All About Eyes Rich

...and the list goes on.

As I was packing, I came across my jewellery boxes, and it struck me that apart from handbags, I love to collect earrings. This is only a quarter of my entire collection.

I bought most of the earrings from Dorothy Perkins, Topshop and Claire's stores in the UK. And some of them are pressies. Each earrings sort of tell a story, you know. Reminds of me past birthdays etc etc. And everytime I travel to a country, I always buy jewelleries, and most of the time it will be earrings. Some of the earrings in the picture is from UK, Sweden, Australia.

Greetings!

So...in 2 days time, we won't be fasting anymore, and instead, we'll be stuffing our faces with kuih raya until we get fat. Just wanna wish, two days in advance, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to everyone who has been reading my blog!

I'm sooo not in the mood to celebrate. The air in this house is just not festive at all. These festivities might be something to look forward to, if you're 5 years old, but if you're already 21 like me, hari raya isn't that great anyway. I'm looking forward to meet all my fave cousins, but my heart won't be at peace, coz I'm thinking ohmygod will I be able to finish studying Soil lab in time?? Err...what about hydro lab?? Frankly, ever since I'm in university, I'm unable to enjoy hari raya like a normal person.

And then with all the stress that I'm experiencing, my body will release whatever hormone it is that triggers craving for carbs and then I'll be helping myself to lots of ketupat and sambal kacang. When I'm back in KL, I gained a few pounds. Nice.

Tomorrow I'll be going back to JB and I'll be there until Saturday. Most people will just stay at their kampung for 2-3 days, but not my family. I hope that I won't be bored to death while I'm there, and that I won't eat like a pig.

Gossip Girl fashion

Self-potraits of me trying to copy Blair's style.

I just love the Gossip Girl fashion...the whole "pretty meets preppy" winter style. Tweed, beanies, blazers, checks, coloured stockings and headbands--all worn at once!
Some of the outfits Serena, Blair and Jenny wear might not be suitable to be worn here in Malaysia, but every girl should have a bit of Gossip Girl glamour in her wardrobe!
Glad I still keep my headbands. I have LOADS of them. I used to wear headbands all the time, during my first year, it was my trademark. At that time, headbands weren't cool yet. Now that Blair made headbands cool again, I'm glad I still keep them!

I'm on a tight budget

I'm officially broke now.

First, my father has not put any money into my bank account for the past six months. Or maybe more.

I've been living on weekly allowances.

And now my father is planning to cut his or my mum's phone line, and stop the Astro subscription as well!

This is waaay too much. I never expect that things would go this far. My father has taken the berjimat cermat thingy very seriously.

I tried negotiating with my parents. How about we don't completely stop the Astro subscription? Why don't we subsribe to Movies and Variety packages only? No luck. Both the packages cost RM80++ altogether, not much difference with the amount of RM98 that we have to pay for every month (Still, what is wrong with paying RM98?) So I said, OK, drop the Movies package, only subsribe to Variety. I'm hellbent on NOT letting go of the Variety package, coz I can't imagine how I'll live without a weekly dosage of Kimora and Living Lohan. And the Daily 10 and THS are good time-wasters as well. But anyway, my proposal is still under consideration.

I hope he's not planning to take away Streamyx as well.

Anyway, today I'm too lazy to cook properly, I just made a simple (and low-cost) tom yam rice with broccoli and carrot.
This pic was taken while I'm still cooking. Not finished yet. Gaul pun tak rata.Hehe.

Last day of class!

Today I woke up feeling happy coz today I will be going back home for a 1 week break. And the atmosphere in the classrooms had that "day-before-a-holiday" feeling. But as expected, my good mood didn't last long. Jacq told me that the lab instructor had changed some values for our experiment result the other day, and we had to redo our reports. Err..excuse me?? Redo everything?? When everyone is going back to their kampung?? We don't have time for this, so Jacq and I decided not to redo it. Malas! In the first place, it's the instructor's fault coz she taught us the wrong thing when we did the lab.

I'm not fasting today, coz of you-know-what, so I decided to cook lunch (I can't buy food at the foodcourt. It's like wearing a label on your forehead that says "I'm having my period"). I cooked tom yam and stir-fry vegetables, using the Maggi tom yam paste and Adabi fried vegetable seasoning. This is the first time I made stir-fry vegetables using a perencah, before this, I always cooked it properly, you know, with onions and oyster sauce and all. Guess what? The stir-fry vegetables turned out to be the most digusting thing I've ever tasted! Gross! Someone had warned me that perencah Adabi taste like shit, but I didn't listen. It was so bad, I had to throw all the vegetables away.

Our last buka puasa this year

Yesterday was the last time my bf and I buka puasa for this year. We had everything carefully planned out. I wanted to eat laksa and he wanted nasi lemak, so we figured that Lemongrass at Alamanda would be the perfect choice. And then we planned to eat sushi after that.

When we arrived in Alamanda at about 6pm to make reservations, we found that most of the tables at Lemongrass had already been reserved. And there's a long queue at the counter, which means that we won't get a chance of booking a table there. So we decided to just eat sushi then.

We went to Sushi King and I asked the cashier if we need to make reservations for buka puasa. She said no, we could just come straight away. Before this, I've noticed that Sushi King is the only restaurant that isn't full house during buka puasa, so I was like OK then, we'll come at 7pm.

So then we walked around Alamanda til it was almost 7pm. I was surprised to find that Sushi King was almost full and there's a huge crowd waiting outside! When we finally made it there, it was full. I was so pissed off at those makciks who filled up the restaurant! Hari lain taknak makan situ. The day that I wanted so badly to eat sushi, it's the day they decided to buka puasa there. Besides, I think those people live in Putrajaya, why can't they just go home and cook something for their husbands and kids? And give people like me, who lived far away, a chance to have some decent meal?

There's thing thing about me. If I walk into an empty store, a shop that people rarely goes in, the moment I came in, people will start come flooding in! Same goes at restaurants. Wherever it is that I planned to eat, once I came in, lots of people went in as well.

The bf and I immediately rushed to Roti Boy and bought some bread. He texted his sister, telling her to call him when it's finally time to break fast. It was around 7.15pm and she didn't call. Turned out that he mistakenly sent the text to my phone! Duh, what a disastrous buka puasa. Fortunately, the PA system announced when it was time to break fast. So we ate Roti Boy with Carrefour drinking water in his car.

Then we went back inside the mall to see if the people at Sushi King had left. No luck. We went to McDonalds, to see if there's any empty seat. None. Then off we went to the foodcourt, hoping for a kebab. The kebabs are already finished. Then we went back to McDonalds, and then Sushi King, and then McDonalds again. That's how it was, back and forth between McDonalds and Sushi King, until we finally found two empty seats at Sushi King.

Finally! We had our sushi. But the funny thing is, I only ate RM9 worth of sushi. Two plates only! Which is weird coz two plates are never enough for me. I ate the prawn+cucumber+fish eggs+mayonnaise sushi (forgot the name) and the deep fried scallop, and the I'm full! My bf only ate 2 plates as well.
So that's now our final buka puasa for this year went.

Bad drivers

There's two things that I hate about living in the on-campus apartment. First is lizards. Second, I'm exposed to the dangers of the other bad female drivers like me.
Previously, I would have hate it if some male chauvinist pointed out about a woman's driving. But now, I rest my case.
Today I went out to buy some groceries, and as I was leaving the apartment entrance, there's this girl in a Proton Wira coming into the entrance from the other side of the road. Whenever I enter the apartment's gate from the other side of the road, I've always made sure first that there's no car coming out from the gate AND I make sure that I'm slow, so in case if there IS a car, I can brake in time. But that Proton Wira idiot was fast and she simply drove in and she didn't notice me coming out. Luckily, both of us manage to brake in time. What a bad driver! And me, being another typical bad female driver, sort of panicked and I wanted to reverse, but the gear is still in D4 so I almost hit that car. But I managed to brake though. Sheesh! I should have rammed that car!

And after I got my groceries, I wanted to go in again, there's this Kancil coming out. If she passed her driving theory exam, she should know that it was MY way and she should wait. But no, she attempted to cross my way. So me, being a pemandu berhemah and all, I stopped to make way for her. But then she also stopped! I thought she finally realizes that she's in the wrong way and wanted to give way to me, so I made a move. But then she started moving also! GRRRRR!!!! I'm so angry I almost cursed her. Lucky it's the fasting month.

When I first got this car, there's not many of it with this colour. But now there's so many of them! Everywhere I go, I see the exact model with the same colour. Urghhh...it makes me sick.

Anyway, today I finally got a simple fried rice right! Made nasi goreng kampung, HOT and with lots of vegetable (the way I like it).

Cookies

Smarties cookies...err no...it's called Koko's Hairball Cookies

During this fasting month, my sleeping pattern has changed. I'm too tired to study or do anything during the day, so I would take naps. Previously, I never took naps in the afternoon. I feel like if I sleep during the day, I'll miss out a lot on things. But sleeping is all I feel like doing lately.

So since my daytime in spent in dreamland, I study at night. So last night, I studied until God knows when (I have Soil Mechanics test on Monday), and today I'd have to bake some raya cookies for my bf, which is why I really have to catch up on my studies last night. I managed to try out some questions from the assignment, and then I went to bed and dreamt about drawing Mohr's circles.

This morning I woke up at 9am and baked my first batch of cookies. It's called the Rainbow Crystal cookies or something. Actually, it's just biskut suji. The recipe book writer tried to make it sound more interesting. The difference is that biskut suji is plain white, the Rainbow Crystal has 3 colours: pink, green and white. I'm gonna call it Cute Cookies coz they're sooo cute!

Actually the cookies are cute and colourful. The crappy Cybershot phone didn't capture that,of course. And the lighting in the kitchen's very bad.

Then I baked my second batch of cookies. The Nestum Smarties cookies. Boring name. Since its dough looks like a cat's hairball puke, I'm gonna call it Koko's Hairball. Haha. Koko loves the smell of these cookies by the way.

These days people don't send Raya cards by post anymore :( but today I got one...from...errr...my dentist. Hmm...that's nice.

Anyway, the Garnier PureA scrub and blemish pen really works. I have no more pimples now, only scars.

I remember getting excited about Raya as a kid. Now, I'm not really in the mood to celebrate. Last year, I stayed at home and studied for finals while my cousin went to our relatives' houses. But this year things are going to change. I'm still not in the mood to celebrate, but I will most certainly go to my relatives houses. Two words: duit raya. My dad had stopped topping up my bank account, I only rely on weekly allowances now. So now I'm grabbing every opportunity I can to get some cash.

Tagging game

I've been tagged by Wani!

7 Facts About Me, Weird & Random...

1. I have a fear of metal detectors at airports and shopping malls.

2. My favourite accessory--handbags. Can't get enough of them. I'm not really a big fan of necklaces, bracelets, rings and stuffs. I just buy them, but I rarely wear them. Same goes for shades as well. And shoes.

3. I can't stand lazy people. And poor Internet connection.

4. There's this weird thing about me--I always get good grades in tough subjects, but average/bad grades for easy subjects.
Differential Equations and Mechanics of Materials are killer subjects, but I got A for both classes. I got B for Surveying, and B- for Fluid Mechanics, even though I find both subjects easy.

5.I'm weird...I'm an Aquarian and I have this Garfield bookmark that says "Aquarians are normal, the rest of the world is weird." You get it right? It's a sarcastic way of saying that Aquarians are weird. I'm an Aquarian, and yes, I'm weird in many ways.

6.I can't walk out of Dorothy Perkins without buying something. The clothes, accessories, everything there are totally...me!

7.I don't like to eat at foodcourts. OK, so the food there are cheap. But foodcourts are too crowded and everything there is self-service! The thing is, I like to think of myself as this spoilt rotten princess, and I want to be served! So whenever I dine out, I want to go to a proper restaurant and where people serve me!

And now I'm tagging...

Why this week sucks

1. I have Msian Studies replacement class almost every friggin night!

2.This Wednesday is a public holiday but I can't go home.

3.I have Hydraulic test on Thursday and I have absolutely no idea about weirs and gates.

4.I have a lab on Friday!!! Which means I can't go home on Thursday night and bake cookies.

5.I'm stuck here in my lizard-infested room til Friday.

6 things I can't stand...

1.Lizards!! Arghhh!!

2.Guys who parked right in front of Ilmu gate (my apartment), while waiting for their extremely slow girlfriends to get ready. These people are always blocking my way! Why can't they wait at the bus stop? Or is it because their girlfriends are too fat and lazy to walk a bit??

3.People who tells a story and then repeat it over and over again. So annoying ok.

4.People who use my cutlery and leave it in the sink for a few days along with some disgusting goo with revolting colour. I let people use my fork and spoon, but please wash it right after using it, coz if it leave it dirty for a few days, it'll stink. Gross...

5.People who brag to others that their cooking is the best.

6.People who refuse to use their brains and are so damn lazy and depends on others all the time.

Why am I feeling so grumpy? Is it PMS?

Handbag charm bracelet

This lovely rhodium-plated charm bracelet is featured in the latest Malaysia Airlines' Temptations catalogue. I love the little handbag-shaped pendants. Price: RM78. Plus free necklace. In the catalogue, the free necklace is a cute silver necklace with a handbag pendant too. But on the Temptations website, the free necklace is a plain silver chain with two interlocking rings. I want this charm bracelet!!! It's so cute, and it reflects my personality (I'm addicted to handbags).

Went to KLCC. Got a RM10 Kinokuniya voucher so this is what I got for myself! My third recipe book!
I know the previous recipe book that I bought is also on Asian rice dishes, but this one is different. Perfect book for beginners coz the recipes are simple and basic. It features more rice recipes...Chinese fried rice, Malay style fried rice, kai lan with oyster sauce, fried rice with salted fish, tomato rice, all kinds of fried rice lah..Got recipes for nasi lemak, chicken rice, lontong (rice cakes with vegetable curry) and chicken briyani also. OK,OK, enough, I'm fasting and it makes my mouth water.
Right now I'm craving for expensive food. I want premium ice creams (Haagen Dazs), I want choccies like Fidani, Godiva...I want all the pastas at Dome Cafe, and those chocolatey drinks they have.

My first recipe books!

Today I went to MPH Great Eastern mall and bought my first two recipe books!

I wanted cheap recipe books, preferably below RM10, and I want it to be small-sized. Cute! Oh, and the recipes must be simple too. These books fit the bill perfectly.

The recipes are all mouth-watering. Can't wait to try them! Hehe. I'm so excited to cook ever since I got my multi cooker!

So far, I've cooked twice using the multi cooker. The first time, I made fried rice. Err...it turned out to be salty. The second attempt, I made spicy tamarind sauce for buka puasa the other day. I was rushing that day, so I just throw in the sauce and some vegetables.

First day fasting in Uniten

The Western Digital My Passport in pink...this is what I'm lusting after...but it's RM259!
Actually today is supposed to be a “relaxed” day. I only have 3 hours of classes. I could barely concentrate during 8am Structure class. The class is 2 hours! And then I have Soil quiz at 1pm but I was such a blurcase I walked to class 1 hour earlier, at 12! Damn, extra exercise! After the quiz I went back to my apartment and pengsan on my bed.

At 3pm, my bf informed me that he doesn’t have night class. So he can break fast with me. Went to Mines, searching for a laptop case cheaper and cuter than the one in Harvey Norman. But couldn’t find any. The one in Harvey Norman is still the best. But I did find this cute light pink external hard disk, the Western Digital My Passport, but it’s more expensive than the one in Harvey Norman.

Anyway, I bought this cute pink Phillips headphone. Yeay! Finally I can listen to my mp3 player again! Bought some CD-R too...I’m sick of listening to Snow Patrol and Lifehouse in my car. And I got new contacts as well.Dark brown.

My dad told my mum to start learning to drive the Honda coz he’ll be working in Subang soon, and he won’t be driving there. It’s tiring, with all the jam, and petrol is expensive too.
