I love my lappie

When my dad got his EPF recently, he bought me the Sony Vaio W Series mini laptop in pink.
When I first got it, I was a bit dissappointed coz the webcam doesn't have a self-timer and I can't capture self-potraits :P.

But now that I'm in my final semester in university, I realized that it's such a practical gift! During this final sem, I need a mobile computer with me ALL THE TIME. For my final year project, for my Integrated design project.

I can do my work anytime and anywhere. For the Integrated project, all group members have to bring their own laptops to every meeting coz we need to work together on the Gantt charts and designs and everything. My friends have to carry their heavy lappies all the time.

And when I was in London, thanks to this cute lappie of mine, I could chat with my boyfriend and check my examination result.

My laptop even fits into my handbag! I'm just so grateful to have it. Thanks Dad!

Updates on my boring life

In the previous entry I stated that I need new shirts? Well, I bought 2 shirts today! Not at Dorothy Perkins, but at Reject Shop. Saw the purple and blue shirts at the Dorothy Perkins store in Sunway Pyramid and the colours are just oh-so-nice. But how come I didn't buy the DP shirts and went for Reject Shop???

REASONS:

1) I've been overspending in the past few weeks and I really can't afford Dorothy Perkins right now =( Price of 1 shirt at DP is RM79. I got 2 shirts at Reject Shop at that price.

2) Button-down shirts aren't really my style, so I don't want to spend a lot on them. I don't know, everytime I wear shirts I feel...old and boring.

Anyway, I bought 1 short sleeved and 1 long-sleeved shirt. The short sleeved shirt is a Zara Trf and it's purple. The long-sleeved shirt is stripey black and grey and I feel like a dude wearing it even if it has puffed sleeves.

About my studies...

This semester I'm taking 4 classes (13 credit hours).

1) Project II

2) Integrated Civil Engineering Design Project

3) Statistics

4) Geographical Information System (GIS)

I have classes for 3 days only in a week. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The remaining 4 days in the week are public holidays for me. Sounds great right? Well, not that great. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I am superbusy, I'll be going to Uniten as early as 7am in the morning, and coming home at night. I can't remember when was the last time I came home before sunset. Haha.

Need new clothes

I always feel like I need new clothes, constantly feeling like I have nothing to wear, even though my closet is already...ermm...overflowing and cannot be shut properly now.

Now I'm in my final semester, and I'm going to have presentations EVERY WEEK. So I need a few suitable attire for the presentations.

In Uniten, we have to wear formal on Mondays, and I usually stick to wearing baju kurung. But now every Tuesday I will have Integrated presentation, and I don't want to wear baju kurung all the time. I need more formal clothes.

At the moment I have only 2 long sleeved shirts (peach and white), 2 short sleeved shirts (black and pink) and 2 very classy but uncomfortable formal wear which I bought for my internship.

I like Dorothy Perkins' shirts. The colours are interesting.

Purple! My favourite!

Is this too bright? But it'll look great if worn with a black cardigan.

I like the belted waist! And the sleeve!

Another favourite of mine!
Actually I want all the items listed under "Formal Shirts" on the Dorothy Perkins website. Hehe.

Perfumes

Went to Amcorp Mall with Yasser today and I saw this kiosk that sells miniature perfumes! So cute okayyy! Feel like buying them all! But I can't coz I've spent too much already this week, and one small bottle of perfume cost about RM45. I think it's a bit pricey for a 10ml bottle (Or maybe it was less, 8ml I think, the bottles are so tiny!).

I love collecting perfumes. I rarely wear them though. My weakness: cute bottles. I've bought Anna Sui Love (the butterfly shape), Anna Sui Secret Wish (the green one), Vera Wang Princess, Thierry Mugler's Angel (and I don't even like the smell!)...all because of their bottles!

My perfume collection is not that massive...hehehe...excluding body mists and Body Shop EDTs.

Anyway, if I have lots of money (which I hope I will have in the near future), there are a few perfumes which I would like to have.
I want these Anna Sui perfumes: Night of Fancy (the purple peacock), Flight of Fancy (the yellow peacock), Rock Me (love the bottle! And the scent too!), Dreams (almost bought this in London but had to save money for something else more important), and Secret Wish Magic Romance (the pink bottle with the fairy on top).

The new limited edition Glam Princess! I want this too!

Rock Princess...I think this is limited edition as well...Wonder if I can still find it?

Floral Princess. This is no longer available either. I think.
By the way, I love the smell of Flora by Gucci as well!

"Stressed" spelled backwards is "desserts"

Reasons why my life is not so great right now:

1) Integrated project has started.

2) There's no hope of ever completing my final year project. Just now my supervisor asked me the status of my project. I wanted to say 'pending' but 'impossible' is a more suitable word.

3) I have the worst skin in the world.

I have pimples on my face. It happened because when I did the surveys among the public, I passed my pen around. And hands are where the bacteria accumulate. In fact, I've read somewhere that a human being's hand has more germs that a toilet bowl! Eww! So, about 30 people used my pen, and I came touched that pen, and it was very hot and I was sweating like a pig, so I WIPED MY SWEAT USING MY BARE HANDS! So that's how I got those pimples. Besides, did I mention that it was very hot and I was sweating? Yes, I did.

Haircare tips from me

Once upon a time, I wrote an entry called "Skincare tips from me". Now I'm gonna write about haircare, since some people asked me what are the products I'm using for my hair my hair. They said my hair is very black and thick.

But if you see me in person, my hair isn't that nice. My hair resembles a (black) mop. Haha. I have problems like dandruff and split ends. And a little bit of hair fall (Thank God my hair is still thick).

HAIRCARE TIPS

#1: I'm using Himalaya Protein Shampoo & Conditioner for Normal Hair. It's great if you want strong, healthy hair. This shampoo has no nice-smelling scent like other shampoo though.

#2: I see people my age already has grey hairs. In fact, I've found one grey hair on my head a few semesters ago! I googled the cure for premature greying of hair and found the solution--Indian gooseberry. So sometimes I applied Himalaya Protein Hair Cream on my hair (it's main ingredient is Indian gooseberry). The cream d0es not only prevent premature greying, it also promotes hair growth. Besides that, I also take B complex supplement as it helps in preventing premature greying.

STYLING TIPS

#1: If I want to curl my hair, I only use plastic rollers and Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion (Airy). That's it. I find that whenever I used heated curlers, the curls last for about half an hour only! Heat doesn't work on my hair. Plastic rollers work better. To make sure the curl last long, I use Lucido-L Hair Spray.

#2: And if I'm having one of those bad hair days (when my hair is wavy but not in a good way, in a more unflattering way), I use Sunsilk Straight & Sleek Anti-Frizz Lotion. Leaves hair feeling soft and smelling nice. And if that doesn't work, I'll have to use FORCE, which is the Vidal Sassoon Ceramic Straightening Brush. Haha. But this rarely happens. And I try to avoid using that brush very often, coz heat is not good for the hair (the brush works with a hair dryer).

Another important haircare tip which I never care about before, until now, is trimming your split ends. I once read that if you have split ends, your hair won't grow anymore. So always trim your hair a bit once it gets out of shape. Whenever I have long hair, I find that the rate of hair fall increases. But I only need to trim for about 1-2 inches, and the hairfall stopped. So don't be lazy to visit your hairdresser!
P/S: If you're interested, google the product images. I'm so malas to put the pictures here. Hehe sorry!

Final year project survey

My final year project requires lots of surveys to be done among schoolchildren, Uniten students and the public. Yesterday and today I did some surveys among Uniten students, but the result isn't complete yet! I still have to do 6 more surveys (I lost 1 completed survey form...hu hu).

Hmm...wanna know what are my findings? Not my findings about my project title, I won't bore you guys with the details. But my findings on the behaviour of students. When conducting the surveys, I got to meet lots of juniors (first year & second year students). Civil, electrical power and electrical & electronics students are sooo polite! IT and computer science students...hmm so-so. But the mechanical engineering students (I'm talking about juniors only okay, so I hope my friends won't flip out!)...hmm they're rude and harder to approach.

Today I did some surveys among the public. I only managed to go to 13 houses only due to time constraint. Cooperation from the people was OK. I brought my 2 PAs with me (my boyfriend and my mum). Both of them enjoy doing my project more than I do. I encountered many kind of people. Som interesting types...

1. Friendly old men. This type gave the best cooperation!

2. Pakcik who is vain and couldn't stop talking, and acted as if he's being interviewed by TV3. He gave long explanantion to each question, and I couldn't proceed to the next question until he shut up. I was taking some pictures of the surrounding areas of his house, and he insisted that I took some pictures of his grape vine. OK lah pakcik, whatever makes you happy.

So in conclusion, the pakciks are the best people to conduct surveys on!

I haven't analyze the results yet, but I can say that Bandar Baru Bangi residents have high level of awareness. They really care about the environment. They are even willing to stop using tissues and plastic bags! At first I thought, "How can you survive without tissue?" Their answer? Use a hanky!

Resolutions

A new semester has started, and New Year is approaching. I'm not the type of person who makes resolutions every year (did I make any last year? I can't remember), but this time there are some things that I want to achieve.

1) Read more serious books and less chick lits
Starting with Brilliant Answers to Tough Interview Questions, and followed by The Sun Tzu's Strategies for Marketing (or something boring like that, I couldn't remember the exact title). But this is gonna be hard for me coz that day I was reading a book on personal finance and I fell asleep. But I have to try and equip myself with all the knowledge coz it'll be useful when I work.

2) Exercise
1 hour, 5 days a week. Err...this is even tougher than resolution #1.

3) Go on Atkins diet
I want to cut down on those refined carbs and sugary food.

4) Graduate with a CGPA of 3.5 or above so that my PTPTN loan can be converted to scholarship

In Love With Pedal Works

Bought a pair of Pedal Works T-bar heels at ISetan KLCC just now.

I love Pedal Works because their shoes are STYLISH and COMFORTABLE. Wearing a pair of Pedal Works shoes is like wearing comfortable brands like Scholl, Hush Puppies, etc.

London trip-Day 5

Last day :,-(

Checked out of Hyde Park Towers, left our bags there and went out for some last minute shopping in Bayswater.

Bought this brown H&M bag that I had been lusting for ever since I arrived in London, some toiletries at Boots which include Burt's Bees lip balm (Burt's Bees products aren't available in Malaysia right?).

Went to Malaysia Hall for lunch, but it was closed because of Raya Haji. So we ate at this horrible kebab place (all the food are very salty!). After lunch, we took some photos at the hotel and then went to the airport.

At the airport, it took us forever to check in, the counter staffs were slow and lousy. I hate Heathrow terminal 4. Then we hang out at the Golden Lounge again. It's nice, but the one in Malaysia has more variety of food. Didn't take any photos coz I was in a bad mood at that time (don't ask!).
That's all for my holiday stories.
I miss London already :,-(
