Nana Smoothie (I'll try to come up with a better name)
Ingredients:
20 pieces of grapes
1/2 mashed banana
2 1/2 pressed apples
Method:
1) Dump everything into a blender.
2) Add some water according to desired consistency.
3) Press the ON button!
Simple isn't it? Taste good, great as a pre- and post-workout snack (gives you energy), and if you wanna lose some weight, this smoothie contains lots of fibre and will keep you feeling full for hours!
I will continue to improve this recipe, by experimenting with different fruits. So watch this space (my blog)!

More shocking stuffs
My day didn't start in a good way today. I was woken up by a text from Maxis, saying that my bill has reached RM640. Wtf??
I looked in my call list. The only people I've ever called was Mr.Y, my mum and Wani. And I wasn't even gayuting for hours with these people! Only for a few minutes. And I don't text a lot of people either.
Nora called me this morning, and I asked her about this bill thingy. She said there was once she was charge RM500 even though she didn't call/text that much. She checked with Maxis, and the RM500 was charged because of Internet which she didn't use. She said something about her phone being automatically connected to the Internet or something. I don't understand what it is, I'm not good with technology. Anyway, what she did was, she told Maxis to disable her Internet.
And my mum had been in this situation before. One day her bill was a whopping RM800! She checked with Celcom and found out that some asshole were using her line and making overseas call.
I'm going to Maxis Centre tomorrow to sort this thing out.
Busy.Busy. Got Technical Communication presentation slides to do. And finish Water & Wastewater projects.

My first Billy Bag
Got home from Uniten and I found this on my desk.
It's the BillyBag foldover Indian summer tote that I wanted! Actually I can't remember when I wanted this bag. But what I remember was my dad got an RM100 voucher for the Malaysia Airlines boutique, Temptations. He asked me what I wanted. I've had too many perfumes already, and I don't want makeup. So I picked this bag.
BillyBag originates from London (I think). This bag cost 25pounds (RM110). But with the RM100 voucher, my dad only paid RM10. Go check more BillyBag products at www.billybag.com. Haha I'm too lazy to link this thing.

Guess...Have I got a placement for industrial training or not?
This morning I got a call from a company which I have applied for industrial training.
My heart leaped when the person at the end of the line introduced himself. He said his company does not offer internship program, but there's this position available. The position is something like a trainee job. I don't know how to describe it. I had a hard time understanding what the guy said.
The company is currently testing this new software to design beams, slabs etc. My job is to check the efficiency of the software, but using Excel (Only God knows how much I hate Excel!). My heart sank when I heard this, it seems like a huge responsibility. What if I made some mistakes in the calculation? Will the building collapse? Well, actually I don't really understand the job scope! I should recommend that guy to attend Technical Communication classes! His communication skill is very poor.
Anyway, get this---he told me that I can work from home! I will only go to the office once a week, to report the progress. He said the task is simple, I only need a computer. To save cost, he said I can work at home and call the company if I have any questions.
I was so happy when I heard this. Work from home! How fun! I can be my own boss! I can wake up at 11am everyday! It's like holiday, you know. Besides, the company is very near to KLCC. Did I tell you that I'm a shopaholic? Oh, yeah, it's my blog title.
Then I asked him if the company gives any allowance.
The answer is NO.
At that instance, I immediately had this feeling that the company was just trying to use me. They don't have industrial training program, but they want me to help out with their project, with no pay. Is this slave labour or what?
Besides, I think it's weird if I undergo my industrial training at home. If I want to work from home, then better I sell Avon or cupcakes or Herbalife. At least I can get some money. If working at home means checking the accuracy of a software manually using formulas, thanks but no thanks!
So here I am, in February, less than 2 months to go until my industrial training, still jobless.
I'm a loser. Big time.

- My mum is on a strict diet. She ban sugary foods for herself, and for me. Today me and my parents went to M&S KLCC, and I wanted to buy this fruity sherbet candy. She was like, "Are you sure you want that? Do you want to add more sugar into your diet??"
So I put back the candy on the shelf. :(
I can't believe my mum goes to this extent to lose weight. I'm health concious too, but I still enjoy the occasional Cadbury and M&M's.
Now everytime my mum pass the chocolate aisle at the supermarket, she would shudder in disgust :p
- Now since there's the recession going on, my cat is also trying to save up money by eating back her own puke.
- There's a Clinique counter opened in Uniten, and last week I didn't go to the counter coz I was afraid that they might say something mean about my skin. Those alien-faced women at makeup counters always do that. I wonder, is it a crime to have PORES ON YOUR FACE?? God created skin that way, with pores. But now I regret not going to the Clinique counter. My mum said that those makeup-counter people likes to do that. You don't have problemed skin, but they say something nasty so that you'll buy their products. So there's no need to feel intimidated when you approach them.
- I'm so unmotivated to study for the Steel test this Thursday.

The best lip gloss ever
Reasons why I love the Revlon Color Stay Mineral Lipglaze...
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
WISHLIST
- It's long lasting. Can last up to 8 hours.
- It moisturizes my lips.
- Gorgeous colours.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
WISHLIST
- An all-in-one printer (photocopy + scan + print), preferably HP, priced at about RM200
- A fast absorbing eye cream!
- More LBD books. Some tear-jerking books. Haha I'm so emotional la.
- Cute handphone cases for my *clears throat* new phone. By the way, handphone cases are some of the "unnecessary" items which I collect, apart from sunnies (I always buy sunnies, but never wear them). And I only keep my mobile in phone cases when I first got them. Wait until 1 year, it will be covered in scratches :p
- Blackmores Bio ACE. Used to take this vitamin before, and I feel like switching back to it. The vitamin that my mum bought for me is very cheap (RM16.90 for 30 capsules) but it contains very little vitamins (Vitamin E only 2 IU!). So stingy la (the vitamin company I mean).

My bp is back to normal
Alhamdulillah, I managed to lower my BP in just two days! Now the diastolic reading is 74. Two days ago it was 95.
How I wish that 95 is my test marks, not my BP. Haha.
Thanks to my mum who fed me all sorts of things, and Coco for cheering me up with her antiques and jokes. She's the best cat in the world!
I wouldn't say that I have hypertension, coz my BP only rise when I'm tired and worried. Someone with hypertension has high BP all the time. I think. As for me, my BP only rise once I set foot in Uniten. See how much I LOATHE the place. It's a complete HELL.
TIPS TO LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE:
1)Drink starfruit juice.
2)Drink pegaga juice.
3)Put 2 hempedu bumi leaves into boiling water. Leave for a while, then drink.
4)Take fish oil/garlic/vitamin E/omega3 whatever supplement.
5)Reduce your salt intake.
6)Eat more potassium (i.e.prunes, bananas)
7)Get enough sleep.
8)Don't worry, be happy (this is hard for me, coz Uniten is full of assholes who are always working on my nerves).

Sick of being sick
Today my BP is 83 in the morning, 89 in the evening (diastolic). An improvement.
My parents made me try all kinds of things to lower my BP. My mum wanted to force feed me daun pegaga, but it wasn't available at the market near my house. She made me starfruit juice instead. Next, she's making me drink air hempedu bumi which is extremely bitter. She told me to take more oats. She forced me to eat sayur kacang botol for lunch (reduced salt). So from now all I'll be eating all kinds of herbs.
I ate prunes as well, coz it contains potassium sorbate as preservative.
At hard times like these you'll know who really care about you and who doesn't. My dad called a few times from his office, just to check on my BP reading.
My dad also adviced me to listen to music to help me relax. I did listen to music today, but my BP increased in the evening. What's up with that? Oh ya, that's because I was listening to Katy Perry.
I hate being sick like this. Muda2 pun dah sakit. People my age can eat McDonalds whenever they want while I have to eat oats like a horse.

I went to see the doctor about my allergies, but discovered I got high blood pressure!
Today after my class ended, I bought some Dunkin Donuts. After I finished one doughnut, my upper lip started to swell (only the left side). I panicked.
Uh-oh. Was I allergic to some of the ingredients? That's weird. As far as I know, I never have any food allergies, only cosmetic.
The swell kept getting bigger and bigger. I was scared to death. What if it's somekind of growth that requires surgery?? And if I have to undergo that surgery, will my
lips be deformed and ugly? And after the surgery, can I have plastic surgery to repair my damaged lips? Can I tell the surgeon to give me the lips I've always wanted,
cute,pouty and glossy?
My mind started thinking these thoughts.
Then my father came to fetch me and we went straight away to Ampang Putri accident & emergency. Before coming into the doctor's room, the nurse checked my
blood pressure.
Needless to say, my blood pressure shot up sky high.
It was 150/95! Crazy!
The nurse couldn't believe the reading. She took the reading again. Still the same. She asked me, "Did you pee just now?"
I said yes.
She didn't say anything.
Does peeing makes your blood pressure increase?
Then I went into the doctor's room. I told her all about the doughnut and she laughed. I think I might be allergic to doughtnut or insect bite. I also mentioned about
my blood pressure, and she told me to relax for a while, then retake the reading.
A few moments later, the nurse took my blood pressure again. It went down...but only a little.
The doctor didn't dare to confirm whether I have high blood pressure or not. She told me to make an appointment with a physician. She prescribed me some allergic
pills. After I collected my medications at the pharmacy, the swell had subsided. What a waste of RM79! It was clearly insect bite.
I asked my parents, how did they feel when they first found out that they have hypertension.
Both experienced the same symptoms: feeling of stiffness in the neck,
and feeling your pulse at your neck.
But I don't have any of these symptoms.
All I know is that:
1)I haven't been getting enough sleep.
2)I haven't been eating properly.
3)I've been a bit stressed lately.
4)I panicked about my swollen lips.
My dad said that maybe my blood pressure increased because of these factors. I might have "occassional" hypertension. Whereas on the other hand, people who
experience the "classical" symptoms of hypertension might have "prolonged" high blood pressure.
Meanwhile what I need to do is:
1)Reduce my salt intake. And change my multivitamin coz it contains "Glutamic acid" which is something like monosodium glutamate, I think. A form of salt.
2)Take lots of watercress (is this the English word for pegaga? Both watercress and pegaga looks the same). Or if there's no watercress available, just take the
supplement. It promotes blood circulation.
3)Eat more bananas. Or other form of potassium.
4)My mum forced me to take Rice Bran, a supplement, which tastes like PUKE.
5)Spray some lavender on my bed to help me relax.
So I'm not gonna make an appointment with the physician yet. I'll just take these measures and monitor my blood pressure.
I hope my blood pressure goes down. Amin!
Please pray for me. I'm too young to die!
Gosh, I'm only 22 but my body feels so old!

Busy bee
As you all know, I'm an avid reader.
My reading list:
1. Blue Remembered Heels- Nell Dixon
2.Twilight- Stephenie Meyer
3.The Infinite Wisdom of Harriet Rose-Diana Janney
4.The Girlfriend Curse-Valerie Frankel
5.Change of Heart-Jodi Picoult
6.Who's That Girl-Alexandra Potter
These are the books that I'm planning to read, but I have no time. Most of the time, my nose is buried in lecture notes. Actually the list is longer but I can't remember all the books.
And I'm planning to buy more books, some LBD books, a Jodi Picoult and some tear-jerking novels which are NOT chick lits. Hehe.
I MUST study harder. I got 85% for my RC Design test. You'd probably think, OK what, 85%. But actually, almost everyone in the class got 100% coz they question's really easy. I didn't put so much effort into that test, coz I thought it's easy to score. *Sigh* To be getting that kind of marks for an easy test is unacceptable. Must study harder.
I'm glad I have this newfound spirit to work harder, coz it makes me more alert and focus in class. Today, for the first time in my life, I managed to stay awake for at least 30 minutes in Steel Design class :)
Congratulations to me!!!

Life in university
"College is a bubble. You enter it for four years and forget there is a real world outside of your paper deadlines and mid term exams and beer pong championships. You don't read the newspaper--you read textbooks. You don't watch the news--you watch Letterman."
-Jodi Picoult, Change of Heart
I absolutely agree with what the writer says. If I don't go home every weekend, I would have not read the newspaper, I would not watch TV, and I would not have known what's going on in this world.

Horoscope
I know we as Muslims aren't supposed to believe in horoscopes. I don't totally rely on them to predict the future whatsoever, that's stupid, but I like to read them for fun.
My horoscope for year 2009:
ACCORDING TO GLAMOUR MAGAZINE
This year has the potential to be incredibly healing as you get a major chance to lay ghosts to rest. Whether you were bullied at school, grew up with body issues or have insecurities about love, you can end that pattern for good. And it's a relationship that helps you do it. Arguments flare up in December but keep your cool and they'll be sorted in time for the party season.
ACCORDING TO MARIE CLAIRE MAGAZINE
Those of you who've been feeling poort should soon be able to sigh with relief as this month, Jupiter signals an increase in wealth. Whether it comes via a loved one's unexpected windfall or your own hard work, spend wisely. Extravagant gestures aren't expected. Or advised.

London trip
DAY 1
Arrived in London at the Heathrow terminal 3. Took a tube to the bed & breakfast, Whiteleaf Hotel in Hyde Park. The journey to the hotel was full of obstacles. Took a train from the airport, but we had to stop at Earl’s Court station to go on another train. But it was 6am on a Sunday, and the Tube starts operating at 7am on weekends. It was raining and extremely cold. We had to wait in the cold for almost an hour.
Finally, we arrived at Bayswater train station. According to the information on the Internet, Whiteleaf Hotel is only 5 minutes walk from Bayswater station. But it’s our first time, so we had a hard time finding the hotel. We had to brace the cold weather, walking...brrr.
So we arrived at the hotel at around 7.30am. I thought that I could finally wash up and rest on a comfortable bed. NOPE! The previous occupant hadn’t checked out yet. The room won’t be available til 11am! We had to wait for 4 hours!
Fortunately, the hotel staff let us have breakfast. My mum asked whether the food served is halal or not. Apparently, the reception staff was a Pakistani, and his boss was a Pakistani too, and they’re muslims. “It’s a Muslim hotel,” he said. “We serve a simple continental breakfast. All halal. No cooking.”
My parents were grateful that they don’t cook there. According to my dad, if we’re travelling abroard, we can’t eat even the scramble eggs that the hotel serve, coz they might cook it using the same utensils which they used to cook bacon.
So then me and my parents went for breakfast. The guy at the reception counter REALLY mean it when he said “simple breakfast.” They only served toast, jams, butter, Cornflakes, milk and orange juice. And the toast tasted HORRIBLE. Later, I found out that they were using cheap Tesco bread. Seriously I never thought bread could taste that bad. Through my whole live, I’ve never came across a bread that taste awlful. All bread taste good.
Finally, it was 11am, and our room was ready. Just when I was about to shower, I realized that I forgot to bring my toothbrush! I forgot to bring something important like toothbrush, but I brought unneccessary things like my student ID and my car keys! LOL.
View from my hotel balcony
Since we already bought the Tube ticket for all zone, we decided to go somewhere far. So we went to Ealing Broadway. I almost went crazy seeing all the stores there. In Ealing Broadway, Benefit Cosmetics is a STORE, not a counter in a shopping mall!
I bought a travel iron at M&S. So cute!

So cute!
I've bought this one in white, later I discovered that they have it in pink as well!
And M&S Hair Removal Mitts. For hair-free legs without shaving, waxing or using messy creams. The superfine surface exfoliates your skin gently while smoothing away hairs. If used regularly hair re-growth appears slower and less noticeable. Woohoo! I have an epilator back home, but this thing can remove hair faster!
And err I also bought my toothbrush at a 1pound shop.
10 toothbrushes for only 1 pound only! So cheap!
DAY 2
Went to Kensington, hoping to take some good photos at Kensington Gardens. Unfortunately, all my pics turned out to be ugly. So I deleted quite a number of them.

This swan is a natural camwhore, I tell you! I point my camera at it, and it came neared to me and posed!
Kensington Palace up close
Went to Boots pharmacy. I lurrrve Boots. 10 times better than Watsons . But then, everything in a foreign country is always better than things in your country right? Haha. I bought some Clinique stuffs. Clinique products here are way much cheaper than in Malaysia.
Oh, the black tube is the MAX FACTOR 2000 CALORIE MASCARA. I was at this bookstore in Oxford St and I browsed through a book that recommends the best beauty products. I didn’t buy the book, it was expensive, but I memorized some of the items. And this mascara was one of it. I tried the mascara. No kidding, it’s excellent! It gives my lash a dramatic look, love it!
Had lunch at this kebab restaurant near our hotel. I ordered this:
They served this appetizer. I don’t know what it is. Some kind of preserved fruit. Didn’t eat it. Afraid that I’ll get stomach upset.
After lunch we went back to our hotel, and my mum was moody coz she’s having fever. The heater in the room didn’t work, so it was very very cold. The thing about bed & breakfasts is that, they always look perfect in pictures, but when you see for yourself, it’s a dissappointment. Things that didn’t work:
-The hairdryer. It can only last for 30 seconds. And then it switched off by itself!
-The hot shower in the toilet. It’s winter and we had to shower with icy cold water!
And many more! Can’t remember.
After that, we took a bus to High Street Kensington . I bought my first eco bag! No, it’s not Anya Hindmarch’s I’m Not A Plastic Bag. It’s a cheap M&S bag.
I told my dad that I couldn’t live in London. My skin was extremely dehydrated. My lips were chapped. My dad said I need to stay longer to get used to the weather.
Went to M&S Oxford Street again. Bought some socks coz my feet were freezing when I sleep at night.
Had lunch at Malaysia Hall. This was what I had:
Had nasi lemak for breakfast at Malaysia Hall. Coz we’re sick of eating disgusting toast and Cornflakes and diluted orange juice. Gross!
Went to Oxford Street. Bought some books at Waterstone. Half-price. I’ve already calculated, and I couldn’t get this price in Malaysia. So I bought these.
Since Mum was sick, me and my dad went to High Street Kensington again. I bought some accessories at Claires, lip balm at Superdrug and Dr.Stuart’s teas at Tesco. The teas are so cheap here! Malaysia price=RM20, UK price=RM10!
Last day in London. Mum getting grumpier than ever. She complained that our luggages were too small to fit in all our purchases. I would ask her questions, and then she won’t answer. Whatever.
I bought a Botanics Face Balm at Boots in Bayswater, near the hotel.
Hmm...in London everywhere you go, you smell coffee. I don’t drink coffee, but the it smells good!
Went to Whiteleys, this shopping mall near the hotel. I bought a Little Miss Sunshine keychain, and a headband and bangles at Accessorize. I hinted at my mum that I want this gorgeous butterfly Accessorize bag (I wanted her to sign her Citibank!) but she told me that the bag is ugly (which means that she refused to use her card). So I sulked like a 4-year-old.
That’s another great thing about UK. If you change your mind, you can return your purchases. In Malaysia, jangan haraplah. “Good s sold are not refundable.” Bummer!
So I returned back the bangles and headband and got my 10 pounds back! I went to Tie Rack happily, and then just when I was about to pay, my mum insisted on using her credit card. So finally I relented and let her pay. Hehe I was so happy I got the Tie Rack bag!
I bought Anti-Blemish Solutions concealer, Anti-Blemish Solutions Post Blemish Formula and Super City Block SPF40 (UK price=RM60ish, Malaysia price=RM100).

The hotel. Looks nice. But everytime you book a B&B, always lower your expectations by 50%.
Then went to M&S in Oxford Street, the famous shopping district in London. My mum was looking for lingerie and my dad was looking for new trousers. We shopped around til night and in the end they didn’t even buy anything! It was my turn to be moody. I was so tired.

Had lunch at Malaysia Hall. This was what I had:
Rice with asam pedas and salad. I didn’t even want the salad! But the guy was deaf I think, he misheard my order. Can you believe this cost 6pounds??? Crazy! My parents’ meal cost 3pounds only.
DAY 4
DAY 4
Had nasi lemak for breakfast at Malaysia Hall. Coz we’re sick of eating disgusting toast and Cornflakes and diluted orange juice. Gross!
Doesn’t taste that good. The gravy tasted a bit bitter. I think whoever appointed those mamats and makciks who cook at Malaysia Hall had a really bad taste in food. But I guess it doesn’t matter coz the Malaysians there in London, they get hungry all the time, especially during winter, so the best stop for Malaysian food is here.
Went to Oxford Street. Bought some books at Waterstone. Half-price. I’ve already calculated, and I couldn’t get this price in Malaysia. So I bought these.
By that time, I couldn’t wait to go home to Malaysia already as I couldn’t stand my snoring parents. Haha. My mum was getting more and more annoying. She’s still sick, and she complained that her ears hurt. She said, “Pakai tudung pun kuman boleh masuk.” I was like, duh! Viruses fall under the category of MICROorganism.

And then I spotted this bag at Tie Rack which I really really like. My mum tried to console me by offering to pay for the bag, but I said I don’t want it and pulled a sour face. But after I walked out of Tie Rack, my heart was not at peace, it’s yearning for the bag. I only had 10pounds left, so I decided to refund my Accessorize bangles and headband.

Since my mum paid for the bag, I bought back the Accessorize bangle.Hehe. Didn’t buy the headband back though. I tried it on and it looked like a giant leech on my head.
MY PURCHASES DURING MY LONDON TRIP:
MY PURCHASES DURING MY LONDON TRIP:
Mini size Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. I got the washbag free with a magazine.
M&S stuffs...cute cat socks, Lavender 3-in-1 Body,Room and Linen Spray (I looked for this in Malaysia but it’s not available), and the smallest umbrella ever!!
Little Miss & Mr.Men stuffs. In Malaysia everyone’s wearing Little Miss t-shirts and I want one but I couldn’t find it. I’m glad I went to UK coz I found better things...notebooks, pencilcase and keychain. I grew up with Little Miss & Mr.Men! I read their stories.
I'm already looking forward to my next London trip!!!

Money matters
My grandma is staying at my house now. She remembers my birthday. She really got a good memory, considering her age.
She gave me RM50 as a birthday present. And a card with Happy Birthday song. So happy! Even though the sound is too loud, malu gak bile bukak card tu. Satu rumah bleh dengar.
My mum gave me a Tie Rack handbag as a present (when we're in London. That's another story). My bf gave me money, my grandma gave me money as well. Mostly my presents are money.
But then again, don't we all love money???

My 22nd Birthday
Today is the national holiday to the world a.k.a my birthday.
So far I've only got ONE present. From my boyfriend.
My bf, like my dad, is clueless about buying presents for women. When I'm out shopping with my dad and I ask him, which top is cuter, this or that, and he'd say, "Both look OK to me." Gee, thanks for the opinion, dad. That really helps.
My bf is no different. If I ask him, which bag is more gorgeous, this one or that one. He'd say, "Ntah, I tengok dua2 sama je."
For my first birthday since we're together, he got me a white gold necklace, a mug and rose. My second birthday with him, he gave me white gold earrings and a stuffed toy. I love all of these presents. But this year, he has no idea what to get me.
So, he gave me wads of cash.
It's so NOT romantic but it's very practical!!
Rather than he waste his money on something I will not like, it's better if he gives me money to get what I want. He said I'm the coolest girlfriend ever, coz I agreed with the fact that he gives me money, not presents, as it makes things easier for him. Hmmph! Men! But it's OK though.
Besides cash, he also gave me roses and a card. Thank you dear!

Before I went back to Uniten on Monday (2nd February) my parents surprised me with a birthday cake and a sweet birthday card. My dad said that I'll be getting my present soon. Everyone's busy then. I was about to go to class, and my parents had to go back to Johor.
Happy Birthday to...? Haha. My name isn't on the cake. This cake is cheap, not Secret Recipe or anything, so no name! Hehe. But it's the most delicious cake I've ever tasted!
